Applications and their roles!!

There are 4 main computer applications that we use on a daily basis to complete a wide range of tasks in all aspects of life. These applications can help use academically, professionally, and even personally by creating and organizing information. Some applications will be used more than others depending on the task needed to complete, but it is good to have a general understanding of all 4 apps being that some features are present throughout all the applications. Word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, and database applications are 4 different computer applications that are used to complete all types of tasks needed in all aspects of life.

Each application had completely different functions. Word processor is the most common application which is used to create formatted text (Vahid, 2019). This is good for typing essays, memos, and other long text items that would need to be edited. A spreadsheet application can be used to input and display data in the form of texts and numbers (Vahid, 2019). This application can also use formulas to calculate data and use that data to generate tables and graphs. This is a good application for imputing and managing grades by teachers and even managing an household’s income. The presentation application is used to create a slideshow to display text and graphics (Vahid, 2019). This is a good application to use for managers who are presenting company information to a large group of employees. Finally, a database application is used to collect data so that it can be access and edited (Vahid, 2019). This can be used by a business owner to keep track of inventory.

Each application is used for different tasks, so each one would have advantages and disadvantages. A word processor app will be great for imputing texts and writing texts but would be hard to use to store numbers so that they could be easily read and grouped with text. This is why the t word processor application was the easiest application for documenting by information about my day. It was easy to correct any mistakes and it made it easy to read what I have previous typed to make sure I haven’t left anything out. A spreadsheet application would be great for grouping numbers and text together so that easily readable but would not be good for creating and editing long paragraphs. A presentation application would be great for sharing large amounts of information to large groups of people but can become time consuming creating the presentation. A database is a great application for storing data, so it is easily accessible but takes a lot of time and a high skill level to create and maintain an accurate database (prosandcons, 2018).

All 4 applications are great applications with many different tools and features at their disposal. Each application can be used to complete almost any task with ease if the basic knowledge is acquired. Some applications can outperform others in certain areas, but each application has its strengths and there is a high demand for all 4 applications in some way. Having some knowledge of each application would be beneficial because they all do have similar features and can be used in conjunction with each other.
